Following his World Series of Fighting debut early last year, lightweight prospect Jonathan “Jonny Boy” Nunez ended up spending the rest of the year out of action for various reasons. Injuries followed by promotional delays forced Nunez to be out nearly 10 months, but he hasn’t let that dampen his spirit. “I got a good win in March, but was dealing with a little bit of injuries, so I took some time off and got my mind right and got healthy,” Nunez told MMAWeekly.com. “I was supposed to fight in December, but then it got pushed back and they put me on this (upcoming Jan. 17) card. “It’s kind of unfortunate how some things happen, but you have to roll with the punches.” The time off allowed Nunez to focus on fixing areas of his game he felt lacking.
