Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields made an impressive World Series of Fighting debut at WSOF 14: Shields vs. Ford on Saturday night in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. WSOF Canadian welterweight champ Ryan Ford dropped Shields early in the opening frame, but Shields quickly recovered and started working to bring Ford down to the canvas. It took a couple attempts, but he eventually got Ford down, although he didn’t remain there for long. Shields then sent him back to the floor by a hip toss takedown. Ford turned to try and escape, but Shields took his back, and after much effort, eventually sunk a rear naked choke for the finish.
