French Canadian striker  Valerie Letourneau made the most of a short-notice opportunity and picked up her first UFC victory on June 14 at “UFC 174: Johnson vs. Bagautinov” in Vancouver. Letourneau outpointed fellow late replacement  Elizabeth Phillips in a closely contested standup battle during the televised preliminary card. UFC 174 was originally set to feature a women’s bantamweight bout between Germaine de Randamie and Milana Dudieva, but the fighters were forced to withdraw from the event due to injuries and visa issues, respectively.
