Heading into Saturday’s UFC 180 pay-per-view event in Mexico City, where Fabricio Werdum (19-5-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC) knocked out Mark Hunt (10-9-1 MMA, 5-3-1 UFC) to win the interim title , White was quoted as saying he might strip injured champ Velasquez (13-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) if he’s not recovered and ready to fight by March. While both White and Velasquez are optimistic about such a timeline for his return, the UFC boss said he never really considered such a strict deadline and that his recent comments were misinterpreted
