The event, which featured a pair of title fights, took place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, and the main card aired on pay-per-view after prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. While a number of ranked fighters and notable names made up the undercard, UFC 197 was really all about the main event and co-main event, both of which had an impact on the pound-for-pound discussion. After all, the sport’s top two pound-for-pound fighters were in action;  Jon Jones (22-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) claimed the interim light-heavyweight title with a unanimous-decision win over Ovince Saint Preux (19-8 MMA, 7-3 UFC) in the headliner, and  Demetrious Johnson (24-2-1 MMA, 12-1-1 UFC) defended his flyweight strap for the eighth straight time with a quick TKO win over Henry Cejudo (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) in the co-headliner
