NEWARK, N.J. – Rashid Magomedov was never close to tapping out to a deep first-round armbar from fellow lightweight Tony Martin on Saturday at UFC 169. Magomedov (16-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC), who made his octagon debut at the event, claims he “didn’t feel” what appeared to be a near limb-disfiguring armbar that Martin (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had sunk deep. “I really didn’t feel it to be quite honest with you,” Magomedov told MMAjunkie through a translator after the preliminary-card fight, which streamed on UFC Fight Pass from Newark, N.J.’s Prudential Center. “I was pretty composed about it. I didn’t feel like he was going to break my arm or anything like that.” The Russian fighter overcame the dangerous situation early in the fight to outwork Martin over the next two rounds for a unanimous-decision victory
