The two-time Olympian had posted a perfect 15-0 MMA record, made a successful drop from heavyweight to light heavyweight, and now faced one of the sport’s most notable names in UFC 173’s pay-per-view co-headliner. But for Cormier, a 7-1 favorite over Henderson, it was a bout with little upside and the potential for plenty of downside.
