Poirier (20-4 MMA, 12-3 UFC) kicked off the pay-per-view main card of Saturday’s UFC 199 event with a first-round knockout win over Bobby Green (23-7 MMA, 4-2 UFC). After finishing three of his four 155-pound octagon opponents via punches, the former UFC featherweight has every reason to believe his weight switch was the right call, both physically and mentally. “Coming into this fight, I felt very confident that I could put him away,” Poirier said after the event, which took place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. “My body is still coming around and rebalancing at 155 pounds.
