After two close rounds and increasing concern that the judges would again do her wrong, Murphy (9-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) took them out of the equation at Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 83 event and scored a TKO victory over late replacement Kelly Faszholz (3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC). Murphy, whose bout streamed on UFC Fight Pass from Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center, beat the final bell by five seconds, and she and Faszholz also notched $50,000 “Fight of the Night” bonuses for their efforts. Murphy, who suffered narrow losses to Sarah McMann and Liz Carmouche in her previous two bouts, was clearly satisfied after her latest performance. “(Expletive) yeah, it feels good,” Murphy told MMAjunkie after the bout. “And it was hard fought, and it was a good, tough fight.
