Filed under: Featured , Featured Videos , News , Videos , WSOF Thiago Silva hasn’t stepped into a cage in more than 17 months, but as he prepares to make his return to fighting, the polarizing light heavyweight has stayed largely under the radar – until now. The 32-year-old Brazilian slugger has largely turned down any and all media requests ahead of his WSOF debut, but the promotion did manage to nail him down for a recent video shoot that showed Silva training with his Blackzilian teammates, as well as discussing his upcoming rematch with Matt Hamill in the opening round of WSOF’s light heavyweight tournament. “I’m going to step inside the cage, I’m going to rush him, I’m going to punch him,” Silva said. “I’m going to kick him as much as I can, and I’m going to knock him out. That’s what I’m going to do.” Silva (16-3) and Hamill (11-5) meet in the co-main event of Saturday’s WSOF 19 event, which takes place at Phoenix’s Comerica Theatre. The bout marks the opening round of a four-man light heavyweight tournament that will crown WSOF’s inaugural 205-pound champion.
