The UFC lightweight said he was irritated when he read reports about a change in his fight preparation. Alvarez recently returned to his hometown of Philadelphia after four years’ worth of camps with the Blackzilians in South Florida. With his departure and Vitor Belfort’s , as well as rumored financial difficulties and an impending closure, it wasn’t hard to speculate there were problems within the supercamp, which was featured this past year on “The Ultimate Fighter 21.” But Alvarez said he’s still on good terms with the team, and he won’t feed into any drama about its operations. “Things are going even better than they were when I left,” said Alvarez, who meets ex-lightweight champ Anthony Pettis on Sunday at UFC Fight Night 81. Alvarez (26-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) worked out today in support of his meeting with Pettis (18-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC), which serves as the co-headliner on the event’s FOX Sports 1-televised main card at Boston’s TD Garden.
