GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva hosted an open workout on Tuesday in “La Plaza De La Liberacion” and interacted with Mexican fans ahead of his first boxing bout in 16 years. Silva, the MMA legend, fights Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in the main event of “Tribute to the Kings” on Saturday. It’s an eight-round professional bout, and the first combat sports contest for “The Spider” since he parted ways with the UFC following a TKO loss to Uriah Hall in October. The Brazilian has voiced his desire to return to boxing for years, and it will finally happen for the 44-year-old. Silva seems to be enjoying himself in the lead-up to facing Chavez Jr., as he invited a young fan on stage with him during the open workout session.
