NEWARK, N.J. – In a close fight between Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Diego Ferreira , it may have been a mistake by Aubin-Mercier that sealed his fate on scorecards. After Ferreira (12-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) reversed an Aubin-Mercier (7-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) takedown in the third round, he spent the majority of the final frame threatening to end the fight via submission and left an indelible impression on judges. The lightweight bout was part of today’s UFC on FOX 18 preliminary card at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
