The UFC kicked off the final run of its 2020 schedule on Saturday with UFC on ESPN 19, which took place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. A middleweight classic unfolded in the main event. Marvin Vettori (16-4-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) went to war with Jack Hermansson (21-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) for five rounds but was a step ahead most of the time to take a unanimous decision and extend his winning streak to four. The pair produced a record output in the headliner, but that wasn’t the only notable occurrence to come out of the first of three December UFC fight cards.
