The main event is official for UFC on ESPN+ 14 in Uruguay. Valentina Shevchenko will defend her flyweight title against Liz Carmouche in main event of Saturday’s card in Montevideo. The bout became official when both successfully hit the scale at Friday morning’s official weigh-ins. Shevchenko (17-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) came in at 124.5 pounds, while Carmouche (13-6 MMA, 5-4 UFC) hit the championship limit of 125 on the nose, making the rematch of Carmouche’s 2010 TKO victory official. Both competitors showed up within the first 20 minutes of the two-hour weigh-in window, and neither appeared to have any outwards signs of difficulty making weight. It was a drama-free day on the scales, as all 26 fighters competing on Saturday night’s card made weight without incident.
