Filed under: News , UFC , Videos Mizuto Hirota and Teruto Ishihara hoped to settle things to the point one of them would have a UFC contract. That didn’t happen. Instead, after a split draw in their “Road to UFC: Japan” featherweight tournament final, both Hirota (17-7-2 MMA, 0-2-1 UFC) and Ishihara (7-2-2 MMA, 0-0-1 UFC) were given contracts with the promotion. The two scrapped for 15 minutes, but at the end, Hirota got a 29-28 from one judge, Ishihara a 29-28 from another, and the third called the fight a 29-29 draw. Although the fight was supposed to feature a sudden-victory round in the case of a draw to determine an ultimate winner, a mixup didn’t allow that to happen. The featherweight bout opened up the main card of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 75 event at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
