Marlon Vera NASHVILLE – The first time Marlon Vera wound up on bottom with Roman Salazar in his guard, his strategy was to hold on and wait for a referee stand-up. The second time it happened, Vera (7-2-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) opted to go ahead and finish the fight himself, locking up a triangle choke that he later turned into an armbar, forcing Salazar (10-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) to tap at the 2:15 mark of Round 2. The bantamweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 73 event at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 2 and a main card on FOX Sports 1.
