Nik Lentz Nik Lentz has thrived since he dropped to the UFC featherweight division in August 2012. His lone defeat at the weight class came to two-time title challenger Chad Mendes in a fight in which Lentz learned a valuable lesson on the importance of self-belief. “I’ve been in there with the best in the world, like when I fought Chad Mendes, and the only thing I was missing there was confidence,” Lentz told MMAjunkie Radio. “I was like 95 percent confident, but I didn’t have that next level to pull the trigger.” “The Carny” has been a mainstay on the UFC roster since his September 2009 debut. He started his career at lightweight when it was the lightest division the organization offered at the time.
