Chas Skelly BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Chas Skelly was able to stop Jim Alers in the second round of their UFC Fight Night 60 bout, but not without controversy. Skelly (14-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) had Alers (13-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) on the way out, but landed a big illegal knee that had the referee jumping in for the stoppage at 4:59 of Round 2 and had many wondering if the TKO should stand. The featherweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 60 event at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo. It aired on FOX Sports 1 ahead of a main card on the same channel. Skelly came out quickly in the first round and landed some very hard shots, which Alers absorbed before getting the fight to the floor.
