HALIFAX – Li Jingliang ‘s heavy hands gave Nordine Taleb a good reason to stay light on his feet, and after a tough first round, he figured out how to reply. Although bloodied from his opponent’s punches, Taleb’s (10-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) counterstriking led him to a split call on judges’ scorecards over Jingliang (9-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC). The welterweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 54 event at Halifax Metro Centre in Nova Scotia, Canada. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass. The final scorecards were 29-28, 28-29 and 30-27 for Taleb, who picked up his second straight UFC win since his turn on “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations.” Jingliang, meanwhile, suffered his first setback since a split call over David Michaud in his debut.
