On Saturday the UFC octagon set up for the 17th time in Canada when the organization made its debut in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with UFC Fight Night 54. Top welterweight contender Rory MacDonald (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) stole by knocking out former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine (15-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) in the third round of the main event to move another step up the 170-pound all-time wins list. MacDonald got the better of Saffiedine while standing before he connected with a fight-ending uppercut in the third round.
