TULSA – Matt Hobar (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) left little to chance after losing his octagon debut and ran roughshod over fellow second-timer Aaron Phillips (5-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC). Striker Phillips spent most of the fight on his back, taking punishment as Hobar took the fight to the mat and stayed active in top position for a unanimous-decision win. The bantamweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 49 event at BOK Center in Tulsa.
