SAN ANTONIO – Ray Borg vowed that he wouldn’t be hindered by the octagon jitters in his second UFC fight like he was in the first, and it didn’t take long for him to deliver on that promise. After a quick takedown followed by a slick transition to back mount, Borg (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) locked up a rear-naked choke that put Shane Howell (13-8 MMA, 0-1 UFC) to sleep at the 2:17 mark of the first round. The flyweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 44 event at AT&T Center in San Antonio. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following an additional prelim on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of the main card on FOX Sports 1. Borg didn’t take long to get the action to the mat in this one.
