A controversial decision win assured that Diego Sanchez earned the largest disclosed fight purse at this past weekend’s UFC Fight Night 42 event. Sanchez took home $140,000 ($70,000 of which was a win bonus) at the June 7 event, which took place at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, N.M. Sanchez earned a surprising win over lightweight Ross Pearson in the FOX Sports 1-televised co-headliner. Pearson earned $30,000, though unofficially, he earned $60,000 since UFC President Dana White said Pearson will be paid an extra $30,000 to make up for the win bonus he didn’t receive on fight night.
