Cung Le Cung Le ’s recent history with his bosses at the UFC may not have been the smoothest of sailing. But following Le’s announcement of his retirement from MMA, UFC President Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta sounded far from vindictive in official statements – despite Le being named as a plaintiff in a class-action lawsuit against the UFC alleging it engaged in anti-competitive business practices. He was the only active UFC fighter attached to the litigation, which the promotion has promised to vigorously contest. Le’s longtime manager, Gary Ibarra, first told MMAjunkie earlier today that the 42-year-old fighter would retire from MMA – but that he was leaving his options open to a return to kickboxing. In statements released to UFC.com , White and Fertitta lauded Le (9-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) for the impact he had on the sport, despite just four bouts in the UFC and 12 overall. “Cung Le was a great ambassador of the sport for us in Asia and one of the most exciting middleweights to step foot in the octagon,” Fertitta told the site
