Werdum, 40, was charged this past week with common assault for allegedly throwing and hitting Covington, 29, with a boomerang outside the Hilton Sydney, which served as the host hotel for UFC Fight Night 121. The UFC’s initial response in a statement was that it would investigate to determine if either fighter broke Athlete Conduct Policy regulations. According to vice president of international content Dave Shaw, that investigation is ongoing.
