Lorenzo Fertitta The New York State Assembly today overwhelmingly passed a bill that paves the way for the legalization and regulation of MMA in the state. The bill, A.2604-C, which was sponsored by Assembly Majority Leader Joseph Morelle and 72 others, garnered bipartisan support on the assembly floor to pass by a 113-25 margin. With the bill passing both houses, it will be sent to Gov. Andrew Cuomo and will await his approval. The UFC in particular lobbied long and hard in New York in an attempt to get the sport legalized there
