LAS VEGAS – UFC 296 takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena and on Friday all 24 fighters including its headliners paired off and squared off one last time before fists fly. During Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins at MGM Grand Garden Arena, UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards (21-3 MMA, 13-2 UFC) and Colby Covington (17-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) squared off – again, with a heavy security presence. While trash talk has long flowed between the two top welterweights, things were taken to a new level when Covington took a verbal dig at Edwards’ deceased father during Thursday’s pre-fight news conference.
