UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman continued to reign supreme in his division last Saturday. Usman (18-1 MMA, 13-0 UFC) notched his third successful title defense when he stopped Gilbert Burns in the third round of the UFC 258 main event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. However, the win didn’t come without a bit of adversity for “The Nigerian Nightmare,” who was stumbled by a Burns overhand right early on. But Usman was able to re-adjust and compose himself quickly, using a razor-sharp jab to snipe away at Burns (19-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC). The jab proved to be his most effective weapon, using it to drop Burns multiple times before stopping him in the third round.
