Dominick Cruz ’s UFC debut saw him put his newly-minted UFC bantamweight title on the line for the first time, but his matchup with rival Urijah Faber at UFC 132 was about much more than just the belt. In one of the biggest rivalries in MMA, Cruz (22-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) put his bantamweight title on the line vs. Faber at UFC 132, a rematch from their first meeting in 2007, when Faber submitted Cruz to retain his WEC featherweight title. But the rematch would be markedly different from their first meeting, as the two fighters battled it out for five full rounds. Cruz showed off his takedown defense early and mixed up his striking well, utilizing his jab and kicks. Faber managed to briefly drop Cruz twice, but the champion bounced straight back up on both occasions
