DALLAS – Yair Rodriguez wanted a fight with Frankie Edgar in order to accelerate his ascent up the featherweight ranks. But as Edgar (22-5-1 MMA, 16-5-1 UFC) showed in a dominant display of ground-and-pound violence that forced a stoppage between rounds, maybe Rodriguez (10-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) isn’t ready for that next level of competition just yet. The featherweight fight was part of today’s UFC 211 main card at American Airlines Center in Dallas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and UFC Fight Pass.
