Filed under: News , UFC , Videos Tom Lawlor has already said his move from middleweight to light heavyweight is permanent . The philosophy behind it, he told MMAjunkie Radio, is rooted in a saying rarely used in the context of combat sports. “They might be bigger, but I’ve been told my whole life that size doesn’t matter,” Lawlor said. “So I’m subscribing to that philosophy.” Lawlor (10-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC) had little by way of advantages at middleweight. As not a particularly large fighter for the weight, he was often fighting at a similar size disadvantage as he faces now at 205, but without any added edge in the speed department. His UFC career actually started at light heavyweight before pressure from the promotion and his team prompted the drop to 185 one fight later
