LAS VEGAS – Vitor Miranda used his elbows to exact a heavy toll for every takedown Marcelo Guimaraes attempted. In the second round, that build-up of damage took its toll, and Miranda (12-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) pounced with precision ferocity, knocking Guimaraes (9-2-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC) out at the 1:09 mark of Round 2. The middleweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 196 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on pay-per-view. Miranda was the sharper fighter on the feet from the very start, which didn’t seem to surprise the takedown-minded Guimaraes, who bulled his way into the clinch early on, looking to get the fight to the floor
