LAS VEGAS – Ilir Latifi had to deal with the length of Gian Villante , but being the shorter fighter is nothing new and the Swede handled it well en route to a unanimous decision victory. The light heavyweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC 196 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. The kicks of Villante (14-7 MMA, 4-4 UFC) bothered Latifi (12-4 MMA, 5-2 UFC) early in Round 1, leaving the Swede to reach down to try to catch incoming blows to the leg. Still, Latifi was the first to land a serious shot, blasting Villante with a punch before driving him into the cage
