Darren Elkins LAS VEGAS – Chas Skelly found out the hard way that it’s no fun to enter the octagon with Darren Elkins . Elkins wore down the dangerous Skelly with a grinding attack early before dominating the late stages of the fight, taking a 10-8 round on two official in the process of winning a unanimous decision. The featherweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 196 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on pay-per-view. Skelly (15-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) connected with some hard combinations as Elkins (20-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC) pushed in to try and turn the bout into the kind of ugly, grinding affair that has been his career trademark. Despite the Skelly punches, Elkins was able to get inside briefly and utilize old-school “dirty boxing” against the cage.
