In an instant classic of a fifth round, Lawler (27-10 MMA, 12-4 UFC) charged back after lackluster showings in the third and fourth frames to batter Condit 30-9 MMA, 7-5 UFC) and seal a split decision victory via scores of 47-48, 48-47, 48-47 to defend his title. The welterweight title bout was the main event of today’s UFC 195 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. Judge Tony Weeks scored the bout 48-47 for Condit, while Chris Lee and Derek Cleary saw it 48-47 for Lawler.
