Daniel Cormier HOUSTON – For five minutes, the light heavyweight title bout between champ Daniel Cormier and two-time title challenger Alexander Gustafsson played out as expected, with Cormier using his wrestling chops to ground Gustafsson and punish him. Then, Gustafsson (16-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) flipped the script, putting the Olympian on his back and forcing him to stand and slug it out in what was perhaps his toughest fight. In the end, however, Cormier’s (17-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) grit and determination won the day, with two of three judges awarding him the fight for a split-call victory. The light heavyweight title bout was the main event of today’s UFC 192 event at Toyota Center in Houston. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass
