LAS VEGAS – It wasn’t easy for Joaquim Silva , but he was able to outwork Nazareno Malegarie over three rounds to take a split-decision victory in the opening fight of UFC 191. Malegarie (23-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) was bleeding from multiple cuts by the time the final horn sounded, but never gave up on trying to pressure and land some fight changing shots on Silva (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC), but only one judge was convinced he’d done enough to take the fight. The lightweight bout opened up the preliminary card of today’s UFC 191 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas
