Mauricio Rua RIO DE JANEIRO – Mauricio Rua was nearly knocked out by Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the first round, then nearly choked out in the third. Somewhere in between, Rua (23-10 MMA, 7-8 UFC) managed to rally to a unanimous decision victory over Nogueira (21-7 MMA, 4-4 UFC) after three brutal rounds. The light heavyweight bout was the co-main event of today’s UFC 190 event at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.
