Louis Smolka LAS VEGAS – The raucous Irish fans in attendance made it seem as though Neil Seery had the home-cage advantage against Louis Smolka at UFC 189. But it was Smolka who imposed his game plan more effectively throughout the three-round battle and scored the win via unanimous decision. The flyweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 189 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 1 and a main card on pay-per-view. Seery (15-11 MMA, 2-2 UFC) connected with a hard punch that dropped Smolka (9-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) to the canvas early in Round 1. As he followed him to the mat, Seery attempted to follow up with some ground and pound before Smolka was able to sweep and get himself to top position.
