Filed under: News , UFC , Videos It’s a new fight week, which brings the debut episode of “UFC 188 Embedded” and a preview of Saturday’s pay-per-view event. The online series previews the event at Mexico City Arena in Mexico, including the main event: a heavyweight title-unification bout between champ Cain Velasquez (13-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) and interim titleholder Fabricio Werdum (19-5-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC). In the third episode, fighters like Tecia Torres (5-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Angela Hill (2-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) start adjusting to the high altitude of Mexico City, which sits 7,200 feet above sea level – higher than Denver. Plus, Nate Marquardt (33-14-2 MMA, 11-7 MMA), Gilbert Melendez (22-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and Eddie Alvarez (25-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) arrive, and Velasquez and Werdum recall a tense encounter from earlier in the day, meaning Saturday’s fight might have a little new drama behind it.
