Joseph Duffy DALLAS – Joseph Duffy certainly looked like the man who’d once schooled fellow Irishman Conor McGregor. Duffy (13-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) completely shut out Jake Lindsey (9-3 MMA, 0-3 UFC) to earn his first UFC victory and make a statement in the lightweight division. The 155-pound bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 185 event at American Airlines Center in Dallas. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FX and a main card on pay-per-view. The fight was called off at the 1:47 mark of the first round after a body shot crumpled Lindsey to the mat, and follow up punches forced ref Herb Dean to step in. Seconds earlier, Duffy fired off a head kick that rattled Lindsey’s brain and rendered him completely defensive.
