LAS VEGAS – Robbie Lawler avenged a March loss to Johny Hendricks to claim the UFC welterweight title via split decision. The judges scored the fight 48-47, 47-48 and 49-46 in favor of Lawler (25-10 MMA, 10-4 UFC), who started and ended the 25-minute fight with a bang as he battered Hendricks (16-3 MMA, 11-3 UFC) with vicious punches and knees in the first and fifth rounds.
