Robbie Lawler UFC 181 featured two championship fights, one that saw a belt change hands as Robbie Lawler  (25-10 MMA, 10-4 UFC) took the UFC welterweight title from Johny Hendricks  (16-3 MMA, 11-3 UFC) in the pay-per-view main event. In the co-main event, lightweight champion Anthony Pettis  (18-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) successfully defended his title for the first time with a second-round submission win over former Strikeforce titleholder Gilbert Melendez  (22-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC). Saturday’s 11-bout card at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center saw seven fights end in a stoppage, but Lawler’s main-event victory stood out from the rest and marked several notable feats.
