RIO DE JANEIRO – UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo defended his title a seventh time in his biggest test to date in a title rematch with Chad Mendes . The final scores were unanimously 49-46 for the Brazilian Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC), who wore the evidence of a five-round slugfest with Mendes (16-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) despite hurting him several times with punches. “I think I deserved to win,” Aldo said afterward via translator. “He hit me a few times, but I hit him a lot more. All I can do is congratulate Chad. Inside here is a rivalry, but outside, we’re friends.
