LAS VEGAS – Saturday night’s UFC 178 event drew an announced attendance of 10,544 and a live gate of $2.2 million. UFC President Dana White announced the figures at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended. UFC 178 took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and featured a flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger Chris Cariaso at the top of the pay-per-view. Johnson defended his belt for the fifth time with a second-round submission. The Nevada State Athletic Commission will verify the figures and is expected to release an official tally next week.
