SACRAMENTO –  Tony Ferguson (16-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) proved that he was willing to try anything and everything to get a finish.  Danny Castillo (17-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC), on the other hand, seemed more aware of the fact that MMA judges might have the final say, and he tailored his game plan accordingly. But after three competitive rounds, the fight went to the scorecards, only to have the judges break Castillo’s heart with a split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) victory for Ferguson. The lightweight bout was the co-main event of today’s UFC 177 card at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.
