UFC welterweight Alex Garcia ‘s post-win plans for rest and relaxation took a little detour when he returned to his native Dominican Republic. Upon arriving, he told MMAjunkie Radio he was swamped with supporters and wound up going on a two-day media tour that took him around the city. “I wanted to see the reaction of the people, and they support it,” said Garcia (12-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC), who outpointed Sean Spencer (11-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) at this month’s UFC 171. “They’re looking forward to having a UFC one day in Dominican Republic.” Just recently, the UFC announced plans to return to nearby Puerto Rico for the first time since it touched down in the Caribbean country in 1996
