LAS VEGAS – It’s been a long time since Gina Carano  has been known as “the face of women’s MMA,” but it turns out her legacy lives on with the biggest female star in the sport today. UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey , an Olympic-medal-winning judoka, on Wednesday spoke to the media in Las Vegas, and she admitted that while she often told her judo coaches she had no interest in ever transitioning to the world of mixed martial arts, she was secretly dreaming of the day she would step into the cage. “After I saw Gina Carano fight, I would secretly already think about it, and it was too stupid to ever mention” Rousey said. “I would get shot down, I knew, if I said anything like it. “I remember, actually, being in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and walking over to Home Depot where I was cashier, listening to my headphones, thinking about what it would be like to be an MMA champion. Then I was just like, ‘It’s so stupid.’” On Saturday, Rousey faces Sara McMann in the headlining bout of UFC 170, which takes place at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center and airs on pay-per-view
