LAS VEGAS – MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) was on scene for today’s official fighter weigh-ins for UFC 162, where all 22 competitors made weight for Saturday’s card. In the main event, UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva (33-4 MMA, 16-0 UFC) goes after his 11th title defense against top contender Chris Weidman (9-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC). Silva and Weidman nearly scuffled during their face-off before being separated by UFC President Dana White. The two got nose-to-nose and words were exchanged in a tense moment on stage. In the co-main event former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar (15-4-1 MMA, 9-4-1 UFC) meets Charles Oliveira (16-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC). The fight will be Edgar’s first non-title fight since 2010 – he’s fought in seven straight championship fights, six of which went the full five rounds. Also on the main card, middleweights Roger Gracie (6-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Tim Kennedy (15-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) make their UFC debuts after the merger with Strikeforce. Tim Boetsch (16-5 MMA, 7-4 UFC) takes on Mark Munoz (12-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) in a key bout at 185 pounds.
